Can the smallest, seemingly inconsequential event ignite significant results? This concept is called The Butterfly Effect, coined by Edward Norton Lorenz, an American mathematician and meteorologist. It’s the idea that the flapping of a butterfly’s wings on one side of the world could set off a ripple effect that influences a large-scale chain of events on the other side of the world, such as a hurricane or tornado.

Any opportunity that we provide to our students, even though it may seem inconsequential now, may end up having significant results. Who knows if among our students there may be a future scientist that will develop an alternative fuel, an inspiring artist that will paint a masterpiece, an Olympic athlete, a famous writer that will pen a best-seller, an accomplished musician that will write an inspirational ballad, or a learned historian that will discover a key to our past.
